My wife and i watched Univ. Challenge from start to finish this last series. The final was spoiled by your broadcasting interviews/chat about Gail trimble of Oxford Univ during Monday, this made it quite obvious Oxford had won and our enjoyment was ruined. How Crass !

Did i really hear Mr Paxman mispronounce the first name of Ralph Vaughan Williams? If so I am surprised since both the great RVW and lesser mortal Jeremy were at Charterhouse. Although not at the same time!!!The "l" is not enunciated so it should sound like "Raife".

My wife has watched the University Challenge series without fail but being unwell she missed it this evening (3rd March 2008). As it was the Final she is doubley disappointed. Will this episode be repeated anywhere please or is there any alternative whereby it may be seen (via our computer perhaps? Many thanks for your advice and grateful for your assistance. With best wishes, Peter Maddock.

Re tonight's prog, pls tell Mr.Paxman,so used to disparagingly rejecting the odd wayward answer from students, that'from whence' is crap English; 'whence' on its own already implies the notion of 'from'.
