Robert Aldrich's classic drama stars James Stewart as Frank Towns, pilot of a plane transporting workers and cargo from an oil field back to town. As the days go by, all hope of rescue fades until Heinrich Dorfmann announces he is an aeroplane designer and, by cannibalising the wrecked plane, he can build a craft to fly them to safety.
