The Christmas Invasion. (Special Episode 1)
Drama based on events in the life of ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn. At the beginning of the 1960s, Fonteyn faces retirement as a prima ballerina and a crisis in her marriage to Panamanian 'politician' Tito de Arias. When the much younger Rudolf Nureyev arrives on the scene, he transforms Margot's professional and personal life in a partnership celebrated around the world. But when Tito is shot and paralysed, the dancer must face an agonising choice about her future.

The Christmas Invasion. (Special Episode 1)
Film adaptation of Alan Bennett's acclaimed stage play set in the north of England in the 1980s. Eight school pupils studying history pursue an undergraduate place at Oxford or Cambridge. Their headmaster is determined to see them break records and enlists a new teacher to coach the boys into intellectual shape. Seduced though they are by his promises, the boys are concerned that there is more to learning than exams and grades, and become caught in a clash of education styles and loyalties.

Alice climbs through the bedroom mirror and enters a fantasy world. Looking Glass Land is a giant chessboard where everything seems back-to-front and a game of chess is in progress. Under the instruction of the prickly Red Queen, Alice zig-zags across the countryside, meeting colourful characters and bizarre challenges in every square. Lewis Carroll's classic tale, with its timeless and whimsical theme, is easily transposed to a fresh setting.
