Mark Harmon stars as Dr Jack Black, a hip, divorced radio psychiatrist who takes his two kids, teenage Josh and 10 year old Ashley, on a vacation to the lakeside resort of Glenorky. But inattentive Dad spends his days in the cabin working on his book, until a close encounter with something mysterious in the lake - which he thinks was a concussion-induced dream - drives him to seek the advice of local psychiatrist Dr Wanda Bell. It turns out she's been treating others who are convinced they have seen Orky, a monster who, legend has it, lives in the lake. Ashley knows that there is a creature in the lake, a gentle creature who, without the little girl's help will die. Through Ashley, Josh and Orkey, Jack is able to rekindle his own sense of wonder, and the family learns that value of compassion, love and understanding.
