The First Taste. (Series 1, episode 2)
Mack and Denise Rattray attempt to get their revenge on Sookie, but Bill steps in to save her. Subsequently, Sookie's senses begin to undergo a transformation. She later learns that the Rattrays are dead, and the police immediately suspect Bill. Sookie also begins to wonder just how far vampires will go when a leading opponent of the Vampire Rights Act is killed in an accident. When Bill agrees to visit Sookie and her grandmother, Tara and Jason invite themselves for the evening. Jason Stackhouse gets to see the video of his evening with Maudette Pickens.

Following her exorcism, Tara's mother is a new person; sober and hard working, she has also become an active member of her church. Tara is pleased with the transformation, but is not happy with her own lot in life. Arlene Fowler gets Sookie to babysit for her, but she is taken aback when she realises that Bill will also be spending the evening. Sookie is not pleased when Bill agrees to let the head of the vampire clan borrow her for an evening.
