Sid James is the rogue patient, smoking under the bed sheets and smuggling in whiskey, Jim Dale the handsome but accident-prone doctor infatuated by beautiful nurse Anita Harris, and Kenneth Williams the hospital head who is the unlikely romantic target of strict and starched matron Hattie Jacques.
