Mississippi

Series 1, episode 3

Stephen Fry journeys across America, hoping to learn more about the country that has always fascinated him. A 2000 mile journey up the Mississippi begins in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, where he visits the abandoned neighbourhoods destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. In the Delta he meets actor Morgan Freeman, and drives guitar legend Buddy Guy round his old stomping grounds on Chicago's South Side. Finally at the river's source in Minnesota, Stephen gets some fishing tips from Hmong refugees.
