Simon Reeve leads a team of intrepid presenters on a journey through the spectacular landscapes of Argentina. On the way, they take in one of the greatest matches in world football.
Seldom complain, but if the report in my TV Choice Magazine regarding program 'Explore' Philippines for broadcast 9.20 pm Sunday 15th February; comments in the preamble there- were or are taken from BBC 2 regarding this visit to Mindanao, then I am most disgusted.
"wartorn Muslim regions of the South" Is a total travesty of the facts in Mindanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi Tawi.
Sadly it is these types of comments that are so over the top and really hurt the residents of that area. Nobody has said that Mindanao and some islands south are not having troubles - far from it - BUT IT IS NOT WARTORN. Why do I say this; I live in Zamboanga City, am British with a Filipino wife and travel Mindanao. Basilan, and Tawi Tawi islands- been there since 1991 and have never been in danger. In fact, crime is very low in that region, when in fact Makati (Manila) has a far worse crime rate. Your 'part time' visitors hopefully will report the positives rather than the far fetched negatives. The British Embassy warns all travelers to the South- not to go there if possible - but does the Embassy tell travelers to Makati -not to go there - the financial capital - No of coarse not. Thanks and hope to see a realistic program on Sunday without all made up drama?
