I was glad to hear Matthew Wright apologise for the ridiculously offensive remark made by Craig Revell-Horwood about Jesus Christ today. I hope that in future Mr R-W. learns to respect the ideals that Christ stood for even if he (like me) is not a "religious" person. He would not have dared for one moment to use such language in reference to any other religion. Shame also on the members of the audience guffawing at his remarks.
Don't be so childish. Kissing/embracing is a form of salutation. of which there are many forms.

I also was appalled with Lowri Turners' behaviour this morning, if anyone was antagonistic it was her. Thank goodness for Kate Adey, an intelligent woman who put a proper prospective on the discussion. I think Lowrie,a self-opiniated woman of limited experiance of the 'real world', felt imtimidated by Kates' superior intelligence and common sense. I often find myself having to change channels whenever Lowrie is on, as do many of my female friends,she is irritating and does not represent todays women.I would love to see Kate Adey on the show more often,she can represent me any day!
I love to watch Lowri Turner, her fire and passion are something she should be proud of. She could tell by the tone of David just what he meant, and reacted in the only way it deserved.
Typical that narrow minded people blame her attitude on her hight.
I am appalled at the way Lowri Turner treated the caller David when discussing whether it is ok for a man to hit a woman.
She did not let the man express his views and went into a rant about his comments without letting him finish. When the man responded angrily she then expressed concerns about his level of aggression. However if she is going to be aggressive with callers herself she should not be surprised by this level of response. I felt her response was an attempt to insinuate that the man had anger issues and was likely to lash out at a woman. I feel this was completely unfair and that she should apologise publicly to this man on the show. These attitudes by the panel put callers off.
I will now turn off if I see Lowri on the panel as her display this morning was disgusting. Her views do not reflect those of the women she is supposed to be representing and she is the type of woman who gives the rest of us a bad name.I feel her opinions are based on the two rather large chips that she carries on her shoulders. 1.that she is so short and 2.that she is a woman. Perhaps she should sort these issues out before she returns to the show to spout more nonsense and insults.
I found Lowri Turner deeply irritating this morning. This woman is consistently self opinionated but this morning I found her to also be hugely antagonistic to one of the callers during the debate on if it is ever acceptable for a man to hit a woman. The man was quite clearly not a perpetator of domestic violence he was from another generation and tried to get across the point that there are women who can be violent and if they are behaving in this manner a man should have the right to defend himself. He naturally he became irritated when Ms Turner would not hear him out and decided to take him to task on his wording. Then on hearing his irritation she chose to comment 'I hear your rage and find it worrying' which sounded like an insinuation he was aggressive. This was quite obviously antagonistic behaviour on her part. Why is she allowed to get away with this?
I hate the way the wright stuff puts so & so from Scotland so & so from Wales I find it so annoying they wouldn't put so & so from England would they I find it a little racist

In reply to "very angry Mandy"; horses have been around much longer than cars or bikes and have even more right to be on the roads than anyone. Horse riders would rather not have to ride on roads, but when more and more bridleways are being closed to them what alternative is there? I suggest road users re-read their highway code about rights of way, stop being selfish, and give each other more respect! As far as road tax is concerned, I think the government are running out of ways to raise the money they need to provide themselves with lavish lifestyles which leaves them out of touch with the reality of the lives of this country's working people.
i am on holiday at the moment and have been watching the wright stuff every morning, but i think the irish guest presenter is absolutely awful. he isnt very good at interviewing and when talking about topics, he seems to think his view is the right one and nobody else's counts. mathew please hurry back from holiday.
On Monday 29th July, a question posed for the panel was about the rebellion by Gordon Brown`s BACK BENCHERS.
The words should not be split! It is backbencher NOT back bencher.

I agree with the lady who thought Lowrie looked like an escort, it's a morning magazine show, one would think 'dressy casual' wouldn't be SO hard to achieve, she's not on vacation, I'm afraid she is deluding herself into thinking she's 20something, over 40 - have a little dignity please!!
The show doesn't seem to have a dress code for the women, I think they should have, breast's and shoulders on display so early in the morning should be kept for the bedroom, One can't take anything they say seriously when all that's flaunted in our faces is flesh, old or young, it is in appropriate!!!!!

Matthew always leaves me fuming there a now more bilionaires and millionairs than ever and it is these people who should give to the starving as they can even cliam tax relief and when they die they can make a big difference . It is left to us with little money who if like me help all charities while we live to leave a bit to help animals if we can. A small amount can really help save them from pain and man's cruelty. Good on the callers who were doing their bit to help them and lets see more of the stupid rich footballers,singers,politicians and models etc. really help the starving before having £100. bottles of wine and 18 course meals.There should be room for compassion for all including animals.

whats the crack with saying cyclists have to get taxed??? everyone is saying how important it is to promote fitness!!!! then they say tax ya bike ! as if!!!! are they going to slap a tax disc on the back of a horse on the road? which in my opinion produces a higher risk factor as they are unpredictable in their behaviour(and their horses)lol and just go wherever they want and also expect to have the right to!!!! a very angry mandy!! x

I watched an episode of the Wright Stuff programme recently to listen to a discussion on the impending move by the UK government to ease planning applications to install wind turbines. The programme which featured the question "Do wind farms affect house prices" returned, post break, with the answer - "NO'.
In-fact, the answer is "YES", I am not a member of any pressure group, but I am currently conducting research into the effects of wind turbine activity on human health. Anyone concerned enough to research the true facts regarding house prices affected by wind turbine installations need not look further than the results of a survey conducted by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 2004 which states:
* “Nationally, 60% of surveyors involved in property transactions affected by wind farm development (i.e. where a wind farm is visible from the property) reported that values were lower than for comparable properties which were unaffected”
* “Regional results vary from 44% of surveyors in Wales reporting that residential property values are lower as a result of wind farm developments, to a high of 77% in the South West”
“For those surveyors who believe that residential property values are lower as a result of wind farm developments, a majority (67%) believe that there is an impact on values as early as the planning application stage” 1
3. At what stage do wind farm developments have their greatest influence on the value of residential property? 2
* 33 % at planning application
* 35 % at construction
* 21 % at completion of construction
* 11 % over 2 years after construction 3
4. Reasons for the impact of wind farms on the value of residential property values?
* “The most important reason for a negative impact of wind farms on the value of residential property is the visual impact…”
Here is a quotation from one householder who was interviewed after a wind turbine installation was given planning permission to be erected adjacent to her home:
" It will lose £45,000. ....One estate agent said he has seven properties on the market and people are not interested as soon as they find out about the proposed wind farm. A friend of mine was selling her property and had five families looking, three were very interested until they found out about the wind farm. Our houses do not lose value after the wind farm is up and running - they lost it as soon as the anemometer went up."
It is unfortunate that this information was never presented on the programme.

As a fan of Matthew Wright, I was very disappointed in his attitude this morning regarding the subject of vegan diets. He was not only rude and very disrespectful to a couple of telephone callers but he demonstrated gross ignorance about human physiology and anatomy - and not for the first time abuot this topic: Human's do NOT have the dental structure suitable for a carnivorous diet but the teeth of herbivores.
Additionally, Matthew has previously expressed his conviction that humans don't have the digestive system of herbivores - sorry, Matthew, but we do, as a bit of research would demonstrate.
I am very surprised that you should allow yourself to be so affronted by veganism and vegetarianism to the extent that your antagonism was palpable, but that you also allowed yourself to express such gross ignorance about the essential details of a discussion that was taking place on your program.

How is it possible that Lowrie Turner, an incredibly opinionated woman, had never heard of John Edwards or any of the other Democrat VP Candidates? I am not American, I am a South African living in London, I know who John Edwards, Bill Richardson are..how on earth can she comment on whether Hillary Clinton should be on the VP ticket if she is ignorant of all the other candidates...I am truly shocked that as a journalist she is that uninformed!

Watched the show today and could not believe Matthew insinuated that the parents of Jamie Bauld were racist and that 'may be this is where he got the name 'black face' from.. Sometimes his always trying to look at things from all side attitude makes me sick inside.So patronising and insulting, Doesnt he understand that a child of five will say what he sees. The girl had a dark face being Asian... to him she is Black, just as maybe a golden Retriever would be yellow or the sky blue...No stick up for whoever brought this pathetic case to the police and wasted time and money, cos maybe just maybe this lad was racist with racist parents...grrrrr!!

The trouble with goods from China is that you don't often know they are from China until you get them home.
I sometimes watch the Wright Stuff on a morning, some of the subjects are very interesting and enjoy the comments of the panel. However, what i do find is that Matthew Wright can be very patronising to people who ring in on a subject with their opinion, bearing in mind he has asked for their opinion, he is then most patronising if he doesn't agree with them and then dismissive, which i find offensive mnay times. He is particulary patronising about 'immigrant situations', we know his views, everyone does, but other people have different views and it doesn't mean to say he is right. which he always does, think he is on so many subjects. It is a matter of respect for other people's opinions.
Rishma, If you are still logging on here my advice is to keep a diary, everything he does or says and things he doesn't do. This may come of nothing but it will be useful if it gets so bad that you end up going to court again, also it is very theraputic. Good luck.

I should like to pass on an extract from the May 1955 issue of Home Economies (USA), entitled "Advice for Married ladies - Part Nine: Your Husband returns Home":
"Plan ahead, even the night before, so that there is a delicious meal awaiting Him on His return. This is a good way of showing Him your concerns for His needs.
Prepare yourself. Take at least 15 minutes rest so that you will be refreshed when He arrives.
Have your hair look a bit special, set off perhaps with a flower or ribbon. Try to be interesting for Him and a little seductive.
Tidy up thoroughly so that He will feel He has reached a haven of rest. After all, catering for His comfort will give you a lift too, and give you lots of personal satisfaction.

I am a single mother who is the victim of domestic violence. I am the mum of a beautiful 12 year old girl. She has a liver disease called Extra Hepatic Biliary Atresia. She can possibly be placed on the transplant list which I am praying and hoping it does not reach there. I have been trying everything for my child and her health but it has been very hard as her father is continuosly abusive to me and now to her. He has always been controlling to me and I could not take the physical abuse and left him many years ago, however since then he has been on a regime of hate against me and using my daughter as his weapon.
At 6 years old he broke my door down and strangled me then took my daughter and told me if i told anyone I would never see her again. Needless to say I have always been scared of him. Two weeks later he asked to have her overnight on a saturday to return on sunday, even though at the time I was not comfortable about this contact as my daughter was always returned unbathed, not eaten and none of her tablets were taken for her condition- I was scared and sent her. To my horror the next day she was not returned and despite my calls to him he did not return her saying that she will be living with him from now on- he was also not at the address that he claimed he was living in and to my horror the police could not find him. After everything it went to court and he was granted joint residence and my daughter sees him every other week from friday until monday. Sine this time he has been using this 'label' to as he pleases in the name of having joint residence and he says the court gave him this right to do as he please with her when she is there. He has my daughter exposed to an innapropriate lifestyle where she has even seen pictures of his naked girlfriend and many other adult things on his computer and tells her she is at his house and I do not need to know anything and forcing her to keep secrets.(but she has told me). My daughter is now beginning to fail at school and despite me begging him to take her to saturday school I pay for he says I am selfish and want to take time from him on his saturdays- I feel so helpless as the court have even said that is up to him. He does not think of her welfare and treats her like she is a thing to spite me with- it hurts me deeply that he won't see the effect its having on my baby.
Since 2002 I have been submitting to his many demands and always live by the law so I comlied with the court order despite feeling very unfortable especially by what she says on her return. I have been a victim of emotional abuse by him and I have enclosed a statement in this email and would beg someone to read it. I have been suffering for 12 years and feel that no courts give women like me a chance as it is harder to prove that a woman can suffer from emotional and psychological abuse. It has now trickled down to my child and only she and I know what we go through on a daily basis at the hands of her father. It is even to the point where when he calls my phone I start shaking as it is always a new demand. I have been trying to make solicitors realise the pain we are going through but it is very difficult as I work full time and cannot afford these fees.
What people are not seeing is that when he took me court in 2002 it was a method of keeping me in his life and controlling me and my daughter. He is now telling my daughter he wants her to come and live with him as a spite towards me. This is a man who does not work and lives on the system and asked me to commit benefit fraud so that he may aquire a house from the council-since I refused he has been on a mission to turn my child against me so that she decides to live at his 1 bedroom hostel with his girlfriend and baby-and he uses my child as a commodity. he has said to me that if she lives with him the government will give him a 3 bedroom house- and now he is on a mission to get what he wants and I feel so weak even though I know he is an abuser. I feel disgusted and humiliated.
I want the chance to show the world that this type of abuse exists. While domestic violence is terrible I have experienced both and feel that the emotional abuse is far worse than being hit as it is playing with me and my child's mind- and I would rather him 'strangle' me than to inflict this hurt on both of us anymore. I am a devoted mother and do everything in my power to ensure she has a stable life but her father's abuse of the authority given to him affects our life on a grander scale. It hurts me as my daughter has always been exposed to this abuse and doesnt realsie this is wrong- I fear that she will develop issues and become unhappy as she is already showing signs of this. I have been taking all the abuse in silence as I have to show my baby strength so she does not worry. I have never said anything against her father despite all the evil he tells her about me and yet the courts won't help me. We need to be free to live. We need to just concentrate on her health as it is chronic Lliver disease she suffers from- apart from all of this my girl is pre pubertal and is going through alot of changes and is even subjected to other girls taunting her because of her yellow eyes. I feel her pain and wish I could take it away. I feel I need to fight this man but the english Judicial system has failed to protect my child and me from an animal and his ego grows and is beginning to destroy my relationship with my baby. Please help us.
