Since 1903 this traditional cycling tour has traditionally started with the Prologue. However, this year the Prologue has been disbanded for an Individual Time Trial around Futuroscope. This should be the ideal distance for our man Chris Boardman, and he should be wearing yellow for day two on his last tour.

For three weeks every year, almost 200 of the fittest athletes in the world vie for the most prestigious accolade their sport has to offer - winner of the Tour de France. Be it the thrills and spills of the spectacular mountain stages, or the lung-busting time trials. It promises to be one hell of a ride.
