Running Time: 30 minutes (approx)Based on four older women who have either been divorced or widowed. This comedy follows their lives and how they fit together. The main cahracters.. Dorothy Zbornak, played by Bea Arther, a 60-year-old substitute teacher. Divorced after 38 years when she caught her husband cheating on her. Now Dorothy would love to find a close companion who she can relate to and trust. Sopphia, played by Estelle Getty, is always witty and telling her "Picture This" stories. She is also Dorothy's mother. Having escaped from her retirement home she seeks refuge with her daughter. Blanche, played by Rue McClanahan, is forever changing her date! Sometimes a little too promiscuous for her own good. She owns the house the four girls share. Rose Nylund, played by Betty White, portrayed a naive widow from St. Olaf, Minnesota.
