J.D. settles into life as a doctor, but Will, a young chain smoker with suspected cancer, leaves him feeling disillusioned. In an attempt to persuade Will to quit smoking, J.D. seeks advice from Dr Cox, but is disappointed with his blasé attitude. Elliot lands Carla in hot water with Dr Kelso, and it's the thrill of the chase for Turk when he relentlessly pursues, and finally gets a date with, Carla.
