Howard's recently retired father, a former police detective, comes to stay at the Cunningham household but announces that he's bored with retirement already and wants to look for a job. The Fonz offers him a part-time job at the garage but it doesn't work out. Undeterred, he gets a job in campus security at Richie's school and when the Beta Chi goat mysteriously goes missing, he uses all his skills as a detective to track down the perpetrators.
