After much consideration, Eddie decides to make an honest woman out of Carla, and become the father of all her kids. Because of various superstitions shared by both of them, though, it's decided that the only date possible for them to have the ceremony is eight days away, and Carla is certain that something will prevent it. To her surprise, Eddie still wants to marry her even after he learns she's planning to move in with them. But when his mother comes to town for the wedding and meets Carla, she hates her on sight and forces Eddie to call the whole thing off.
