This very successful British sitcom is based on life around "eccentric" PR Edina "Eddy" Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders, Edina's party-going best friend Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley), Edina's down-to-earth daughter Saffron (Julia Sawalha and Edina's patient mother (June Whitfield).

Having grown up in the 1960s and 70s, Edina and Patsy are finding it difficult to come to terms with being 40. They are continually re-living their youth, amid copious use of champagne, recreational drugs and promiscuous sexual behaviour, synonymous with that period.

Saffron, the ever-sensible daughter, is always looking after her wild mother while gran - who is not all there - often has a clever retort for Edina's problems.

First seen in 1992, the sitcom has had periodic revivals and specials, as Eddy and Patsy continue to shock and outrage.
