The Porters; Bill played by Belinda Lang , Ben played by Gary Olsen and their two children Jenny played by both Claire Woodgate & Claire Buckfield (depending on the series you watch) and David played by John Pickard, form the main characters along with an unmarried man-loving family friend Rona played by Julia Hills, who lives over the road.

Ben runs his own plumbing business, with help from of his assistant Christine (Kim Benson). Bill is in the catering business working for a bakery, an airline catering company, and later after redundancy decides to start her own catering business with her friend Rona.

Created by Andrew Marshall who also created Health and Efficency.
