Apophis, now being pursued by Goa'uld death rays, relies on the compassion of his once sworn enemies SG-1, whom give him refuge. Now dying, Apophis vows he will reveal the Goa'uld knowledge in exchange for a new host body which will keep him from his imminent death and tells the team that the original Goa'uld god of death, Sokar is pursuing him. Previously defeated by Apophis, Sokar is now here to wreak his revenge on his ancient enemy. Martouf tells the team that if Apophis doesn't face his sworn enemy everyone around him will perish at the hands of Sokar or the Goa'uld whom wish their former leader dead.
