During a mission to save SG-10 from a black hole, SG-1 become exposed to the hole's gravitational pull. The team close down the power to the gate but the black hole's gravity continues to draw StarGate Command into it. Teal'c and Daniel have been badly injured by an explosion and StarGate Command lose contact with the outside world which prompts the government to send in an investigator, Colonel Cromwell. Time slows to an almost stand still inside the Command while Carter tries to solve the puzzle that could end StarGate Command as well as the Earth itself.
