The Tok'ra turn down SG-1's request for an alliance against the Goa'uld because the team don't offer them enough insentive to justify the breech on security, and refuse to host Selmak, whose present host is dying. Carter then suggests that her father become a host so as to save the lives of both her father, and Selmak. However while the team return to collect Jacob Carter, the Goa'uld attack the Tok'ra who have had just about enough warning to relocate proving the bonding of sick beings to be difficult under such difficult circumstances and with Goa'uld's filling the sky, it requires even greater risk and urgency.
