While on BP6-3Q1, SG-1 are attacked by giant insects and Teal'c is stung by one. The team escapes through the Stargate, but a strange transformation begins, as the insect venom changes Teal'c's DNA into something like its own. While everyone worries about this transformation, Colonel Maybourne see's a hidden potential for the production of biological weapons made from the insect venom. While Teal'c escapes custody, the team return to BP6-3Q1 to catch and study one of these insects where they discover that the creatures transform their victims into their offspring rather than breeding. Now stargate command must find a vaccine, find Teal'c and keep his deserted Goa'uld larvae alive. And time is of the essence.
