SG-1 visit planet P8X987, where another SG team have been observing a black hole. However SG-1 soon discover that a disease has destroyed the population of the planet except for a girl called Cassandra. While O'Neill and Teal'c stay with the black hole, Carter and Daniel return with the girl. Carter soon discovers that Cassandra has a metal structure forming around her heart which is causing her alot of pain, implanted by the Goa'ulds, the device is a bomb designed to destroy the Stargate on Earth. Now the team must decide what to do, knowing that the child is being used as a Trojan horse, yet falling in love with her at the same time.
