Whilst reviewing 1945 Stargate experiment tapes, Daniel discovers that the original team had managed to get Stargate to work and even sent a young professor, Littlefield, into the worm hole whom never returned. Daniel tells this to Littlefield's old fiancee, Catherine who was involved in the original project. The team & Catherine, aided by computer enhanced pictures, set out to find the lost professor. The team find, a now older, Littlefield and a meeting room used by four alien civilizations. The team soon discover why Littlefield never returned - the Stargate dial-home device is badly damaged. Will the SG-1 team share a similar fate to the professor, or will they manage to get home?
