When first Sulu and then Captain Kirk vanish from the bridge, Spock sends an Away Team down to an uncharted planet. There they find a mansion containing all the artefacts pertaining to gracious living, and their host proclaims he is the Squire of Gothos. But his notion of Earth is 900 years out of date, and his playfulness has a lethal wilfulness.
