Russell (Eddie Cibrian) discovers a barely living Air Force officer, Paxton (Nick Cokas), in a wet suit at the ranger station. Russell soon realises that Paxton's wounds are identical to his brother-in-law Dave's, and wonders what happened to the man. But Russell soon finds out that he's not the only one interested in Paxton when both Underlay (William Fichtner) and Larkin (Lisa Sheridan) question him about his mysterious circumstances. Meanwhile, Mariel (Kari Matchett) finds something inexplicable protruding from Paxton's wounds. Russell grows increasingly curious about the strange skeleton Dave retrieved, and Underlay continues to lobby for a town quarantine.
