Why do you (and LibDems) claim that High Earners pay more tax than their cleaners and then quietly qualify it by paying "in %age terms". High earners pay MORE £tax (unless they avoid or evade; different issue). Therefore their cleaners pay less £tax. Why is the %age view significant? Why not the reciprocal of the £amount? I assume the %age view allows for a "good" story. It is also a misleading, if not dishonest, story. Why should high earners pay more in taxes? What do they get for their money*? What would happen if high earners paid more tax and others less? Probably less investment and more waste on nail bars, football kits and silly "trainers".If taxes to pay for services are based on earnings, why not the price of a bag of fish and chips?
* probably they value public services more highly; they have more to protect and lose if the services fail.

Ive always believed that the day the cyprus problem starts to be broadcasted in someway or another on british tv, will be the start to a real solution of the problem.
Its quite simple really , northern cyprus is only recognised by turkey and no other country. Im sure this in itself says alot in terms of the wrongness of the occupation of the north and also includes the rightfull turkish owners land on the south.
Well i truely believe if turkey wants to join EU they must give back the land and make cyprus the way it was before 1974. It makes sense to give back land to the rightfull owners of northern cyprus and the minority of turkish cypriots in the south to be able to benefit 70million turkish people in turkey.
if for some reason the problem is not solved by the time turkey gets into the eu then hope for the cyprus problem will just fade to nothing im afraid.
the Brits that bought on the north side of the island knew they were buying land or property that did not belong to the Turkish. The Greeks should get their land back. I visited the Island in 1988 and north was a no go zone and should have stayed that way until it was handed back to the Greeks.
I have to say that I don't have a great deal of sympathy with people who have bought property in Northern Cyprus. If, say for example a foreign country invaded England 35 years ago and started selling the land. You are not telling me that the people who are buying in Northern Cypres feel that is fine. It is wrong in every way you look at it. The land is not the Turks to sell. The people who bought and are in the process of buying cheap property that belongs to someone else deserve what they get in my opinion. Buyer beware as we say in this country!
Very pertinent programme....strange that H.M.Gov. dont pay attention to detail or perhaps they are ignoring the obvious when they warn of potential crime increases and then announce they are shedding 800 Forensic Science jobs....Sorry Gordon another gaff..

Equally many turks have lost their land in the South - please give this back and a lot of larnaca airport is built on turkish land - courts in South really disfavour turks and claims they make
I have already sent an EMAIL with regard to this programme but it was not acknowledged.
The gist of the message was the fact that some people are at the moment cashing in on staged accidents against motorists,to my mind this will increase the chance of such claims being made.The false claims being made have been proven to be true and published in the local newspapers in the north of england, to name one THE TELEGRAPH & ARGUS .This I am sure can be easily checked.
