Hello, I am professor of Microbiology at State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We (me and my children) do not lose the documentaries presented by Nick. They are not only very important as a source of information, but also present the dificulties in performing them to present worldwide. When nature dosn't permit us to make the experiences to go easy.
we were very satisfied with the documentary exhibited in Brazil at animal planet in 15th December about whale sharks (or prior sharks?) the program was translated to portugese. Anyway, it was very pleasant (as allways) to watch Nick presenting that program.
Congratulations.

Hi, I have just watched the Frankenstein Fish episode, the cat fish in Spain are not as big as the Sturgeon we have in British Columbia Canadat the Fraser River is the hiding place of these huge prehistoric fish. Sturgeon are bottom-feeders. With their projecting wedgeshaped snout they stir up the soft bottom, and with their sensitive barbels detect shells, crustaceans and small fish on which they feed. Having no teeth they are unable to seize larger prey, I Cant say for sure if they are catfish but they sure are as ugly!
Dear Nick,
Would you like to help the Conservancy of Southwest Florida find the extinct Everglades Mink? We have set up panther cams and have caught pictures of a few. It would be huge if we could get this creature on the endangered species list. Please respond.

First off, I just wanted to say "keep up the good work!" The show is definately an interesting and very educated piece of art -- Now, for the main points of my comment:
1. I just witnessed the undersea exploration in search of the Mimic Octopus and was wondering; How much do the tickets cost to go to Sulawesi? I'd love to make it one of my next vacations!
Secondly, have you ever thought about doing an episode about the Coelacanth? It was proposed extinct until just recently, but is still very dinosaur-like and hasn't changed much from the earlier beings of the species. I really think it would make a good show, and best of all: More diving for you!
[Everyone else is doing it so I may as well post an email to reach me at. /rolleyes]

Hi Nick, I just got the tail end of your episode about the hellbender. I notice that the second batch caught ( amounting to two creatures) were more deformed than the first batch that were caught further along the same river. I expect the experts would have thought of this already, but could it be that the second batch of hellbenders caught were nearer to the cause of the injuries/illness. Say for instance a chemical was the cause, then it would be less concentrated by the time it reached the first batch of animals.
Hi, love nick's programs and was hoping that he could help me solve a little problem. My parents and uncle have seen what they describe as a fox, but larger, grey and with a frightening face! There are a family of these and have been around for a few years now. I thought they could have bred with a dog perhaps, but upon reading about cross breeding, this is not supposed to happen. So my question is, what is it? Hoping that Nick knows. Many thanks
