Will the Ghandi series be repeated? We are on holiday in October.
The show did present all facts correctly. However, the motives attributed to Gandhi's actions are completely wrong. All of Gandhi's actions - his struggle against apartheid, the Satyagraha movement are shown as a means to achieve his personal ambitions and to create a name for himself. It was not his personal growth but equality for all humans and his commitment to this cause which motivated him. That is the reason why millions all over the world look to him as an ideal and have exalted him to a status of 'Mahatma'.
Why does the BBC think it is a good idea to present Gandhi as a racist, meat lover, inspired by Jihad?. The answer, this is muslim's view of Gandhi, because pakistanis have never come to terms with how a moral leader of this calibre could emerge from the pagan idol worshipping hindus.
i agree it is a racist view of gandhi he fought for independence and the muslims got stolen land because of him when the english left. Thye bbc should show the good side of india and the indians i.e the advancement they have made since the emmpire crumbled ago 2000 years ago, maths astronomy medicine the language which every european country speaks and the false aryan invasion theory which even max muller realised he had caused a rift without out evidence
Her next project will be:
Hitler: The Good side....
Idi Amin: Why he was Justified in eating his fellow country men
I've just starting watching the program on iplayer and will not bother to watch the 3rd program it just sounds like sour grapes....
How noble of the BBC to pick a Pakistani to present this programme. She basically denigrated Gandhiji at every angle. She hardly mentioned the fact that Muslims slaughtered 100s of thousands of Hindus on their side of the border. No wonder that the Cabinet Minister refused her enry into her so called 'afmily home'
It is wrong for this programme to defame one of the few men in the history of mankind who changed the world for the better and whose inspiration to millions is timeless and cross all boundaries of race and religon. Gandhi was the ultimate seeker of truth.
the bbc didnt defame Gandhiji, its just a documentry on his life, he is a good man and always be remebered as a hero!
