Set in a 1940's Hollywood where humans and cartoon characters live side by side in an *ordinary* world.

Meet Roger Rabbit (Charles Fleischer), he is a cartoon character who lives in this bizarre world quite happily. Until now that is.

Roger is very worried that his beautiful toon wife, Jessica (Betsy Brantley) is having an affair, or playing pattacake as he calls it, with someone else. To discover whether this is true or not, the studios hire a private eye to keep an eye on her and report the truth back to them.

This private eye is Eddy Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a toon hating detective who has recently fallen on hard times. His hatred for toons stems from the murder of his brother, horribly killed by evil toons.

However things start to get out of hand when Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye) is found dead... murdered!! Now Roger is the prime suspect after incriminating evidence was placed at the scene by the real killer. And now Eddie is Roger's only hope. The Villain being Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd).

Groundbreaking interaction between the live and animated characters, and lots of references to classic animation make this a really superb film for the entire family.
