Enigmatic thriller about a New Mexico sheriff who stumbles into a high-ranking FBI case when he investigates a mysterious death. Initially believing the death to be suicide, the sheriff is stunned when he learns that the victim - an FBI agent - was found with a suitcase full of money. He impersonates the dead man in a frantic search for the truth and becomes involved in a complex drugs-busting scheme.
