While giving an anti-terrorism speech in Spain, US President Henry Ashton (William Hurt) is shot. Secret Service agent Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) has already taken one bullet for the President. He doesn't know who pulled the trigger, but he knows who witnessed it. Eight different people, including an American tourist (Forest Whitaker) and a TV news director (Sigourney Weaver), saw something suspicious from eight different viewpoints. But what really happened?

Manchester director Pete Travis cut his teeth with the acclaimed TV movie Omagh. Here he re-configures 50s Japanese drama Rashomon for the HD era, showing the same scene through eight sets of eyes. It's a smart concept for a breakneck thriller which is powered by Quaid's ferociously angry bodyguard.
