Powerful martial arts action thriller about a young man Danny (Jet Li, pictured, right) who is raised as a human rottweiler in order to do the bidding of his vicious debt collector owner Bart (Bob Hoskins). After Danny manages to escape when his captor is involved in a serious road accident, he is taken in by Sam (Morgan Freeman) a gentle blind piano tuner and his stepdaughter Victoria (Kerry Condon) who teach him how to live in peace as a human. However, unbeknown to Danny, Bart wants his possession back, and is determined to go to any lengths to recover him...

Released in 2005, written by Luc Besson and directed by Louis Leterrier, the action sequences are superb, but there's more depth here than you might imagine.
