The hard-boiled US Marshal Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) returns in this, the sequel to The Fugitive, and this time it's Wesley Snipes who is on the run.

When tow truck driver Mark Sheridan (Wesley Snipes) is fingerprinted following an accident, he is found to be wanted for murder. He insists it is a case of mistaken identity, but is arrested and put on a plane headed to a Missouri prison.

When the plane crashes, Sheridan escapes, pursued by the relentless Marshal Gerard. As the chase continues, Gerard begins to suspect that there may be more to Sheridan's claims of innocence than he first thought
