While on a quick honeymoon with his new wife, Susan (Janet Leigh), in an American border town. The honeymoon has to be brief because he is due to testify against the prime Mexican drug-lord, "Uncle Joe" Grandi (Akim Tamiroff). The trouble is Grandi's brother and sons are tracking Mike and his wife in a desperate attempt to scare his wife and thus backing him away from the case. However when a bomb in a car kills a very wealthy American developer, Mike gets heavily involved in the investigation and thus putting his wife further into harm's way. Soon Mike catches the 'respected' local cop, Captain Hank Quinlan (Orson Welles), planting evidence on the property of a Mexican national who has been brougtht out as a suspect in the bombing. It isn't long before Quinlan joins forces with the Grandi family to attack Mike's good character. Cast
