Fleeing the Nazis to America, they end up in a small town in North Dakota where they're met by John Phillips. Accepted by the community, they join Phillips when he urges the community to move as one to Oregon, since dust storms are destroying their farms - but not before there's trouble with one of Phillips' rivals and an unwelcome visit from a face from Leni's past.
