The World Is Not Enough (1999)
Written by Neal Purvis, Robert WadeDirected by Michael AptedProduction Year: 1999Rating: 12 CertificateFilmed in ColourThis, the 19th Bond movie and the third outing for Pierce Brosnan as 007, is a reasonably successful effort, which continues the solid work of GoldenEye, and is more tidy than its predecessor Tomorrow Never Dies. Brosnan seems more comfortable in the role of the super-suave spy, the regular elements (gals, gadgets 'n' gizmos, stunts and shunts) are all present and correct, and there's a strong, hard-hitting and topical story to savour. Bond is embroiled in an all-action race to defuse an international power struggle as the world's oil supply hangs in the balance. Following the murder of a tycoon, 007 becomes bodyguard to his daughter (Sophie Marceau) who has been targeted by a psychotic terrorist (Robert Carlyle). Worth watching. Cast
