Asif Kapadia's double-BAFTA winning debut film stars Irfan Khan as a warlord's warrior in ancient India who, sent to massacre a village behind in their taxes, suffers a crisis of conscience and laying down his sword, sets off to the Himalayas in search of peace. But the vengeful warlord sends enforcers on the trail of his renegade warrior and he must once again face violence. Stunningly shot, the film is of epic proportions and Kapadia's performance is by turn terrifyingly violent and movingly spiritual.
