Computer scientist Hannon Fuller (Armin Mueller-Stahl) has discovered something extremely important. After leaving a letter in his computer-generated parallel world peopled with seemingly real people with real emotions, Fuller is murdered the same night, and his colleague, Douglas(Craig Bierko), is suspected.

Douglas cannot recall what he was doing that night, and logs into the system in order to find the truth.
