This musical drama is based on director Sally Potter 's personal passion - the tango. The story concerns a Hollywood director (Potter) who strikes a deal with a young tango star - if he can transform her into a tango dancer, she will make him a film star. The film is shot in both black and white and colour and is set in London, Paris and Buenos Aires.
