Ingmar Bergman's first major success outside Sweden and the film that influenced Woody Allen's A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy. Bergman gathers a mix of singles and couples in a country house at the turn of the century, both passionate and strait-laced, adds in a dinner spiked with a love potion and then just follows the explosion of comedy resulting from the romantic confusions and confessions.
