Retired private detective Jim Rockford attempts to find a child rapist after his friend, a respected school teacher, is accused of the crime. As the case creates a media frenzy, the teacher and his family must face a daily battle with journalists keen on getting a story. In an attempt to save his friend, Rockford begins an investigation to find the real criminal.
