On New Year's Eve, a bomb goes off on the SS Poseidon killing all but a few of the 3,700 passengers and crew. Trapped deep inside the bowels of a sinking cruise ship, the survivors make a desperate attempt to negotiate the inverted vessel and escape the encroaching water.
