John Moore's reasonably successful 2006 reworking of the 1976 version of Richard Donner's horror classic.

When his newborn son dies, American diplomat Robert Thorn (Liev Schreiber) replaces the baby without telling his wife. For five years, Robert and Kathryn (Julia Stiles) play happy families with the tiny tearaway... until photographer Keith Jennings (David Thewlis) captures the hellish reality of Damien's true nature on camera. Suspicion turns to spine-chilling fact when British priest Father Brennan (Pete Postlethwaite) reveals that Damien is the devil's child. But will they live long enough to take action?

Irish director John Moore follows David Seltzer's terrifying script pretty much word for word, making good use of the (Behind Enemy Lines) original's most successful device, the nerve-testing suspense. What Damien (Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick) lacks in dialogue he makes up for in withering looks, and while he never actually attacks anyone, his enemies nevertheless come to a range of grisly ends.
