Post-apocalypse sci-fi in which the sole survivor of a biological war battles against a race of mutants to save humankind. In a devastated LA pervaded by vampire-like nocturnal albinos, the former medical researcher attempts to develop a cure for their condition, using his own blood as a base. But his efforts to rebuild civilisation and science face violent opposition. Based on Richard Matheson's novel I Am Legend.
