A bunch of Chechen rebels have taken over a nuclear plant and are holding all the workers hostage. They're threatening to blow it up, causing environmental catastrophe and massive loss of life. The Russian authorities don't seem to know how to handle the situation so, in inimitable gung-ho style, the US decides to send in an elite Special Forces team to sort the situation out. Enter Wesley Snipes, in the kind of role that's made him famous - he's a mysterious hard man, emotionally damaged by some of the terrible things he's experienced, and prepared to do anything to complete his task. He needs all his talents as he finds himself needing not only to rescue the hostages but also some of his own team.
