Andy Garcia plays Byron Tiller, a novelist whose latest tome has gone straight to the remainder bin. Trying to hide his lack of money from his wife Dena, he takes up an offer from Luther Fox, who runs an elite male escort agency to help satisfy Andrea Allcott, the wife of impotent writer Tobias Allcott, who is Byron's hero. When Tobias learns that Byron is an author, he asks for his help on his latest book, placing Byron in the enviable position of satisfying his lust both for Andrea and literary fame. But as George Hickenlooper's satisfyingly erudite film shows in its resolution, life never quite works out as smoothly as one wishes...
