In this delightful prequel to the story of The Little Mermaid, we learn Ariel's history and hear how the arrival of a pirate ship and the death of her mother affected Ariel's life. Sick with grief at his beloved wife's demise, King Triton bans all music from the under water kingdom of Atlantica. So Ariel and her sisters grow up in a musicless world, being cared for by nanny Marina Del Ray, who has ambitions to become the next chief of staff after Sebastian. When Ariel discovers a secret underwater club where music is played, her life is changed forever - and Marina sees her chance for promotion.
