Fantasy about a piano virtuoso who spends his entire life aboard a cruise ship. Novacento - named after the year of his birth - is abandoned aboard a transatlantic liner and raised by the ship's mechanic. Forced to remain in hiding for much of his early life, the boy teaches himself to play the piano, and news of his talent soon spreads beyond the confines of the ship.
