This sci-fi horror is based on the absorbing book by HG Wells and is the movie remake of the 1977 film. It tells the story of a mad scientistand his shocking genetic experiments which go horribly wrong - with nightmarish results.

Set in the year 2010, Dr. Moreau (Marlon Brando) has been living on a remote island in the South Pacific for some ytears now getting to grips with his experimentations. He has now successfully managed to combine human and animal DNA to make a crossbreed animal.

Edward Douglas (David Thewlis) is taken to the mysterious island of Dr Moreau after his plane crashes in the Pacific. Unable to leave or get information about the experiments the doctor is conducting he sets about searching for answers on his own.

Well, as usual, something goes wrong leading to nightmarish consequences leaving Edward trying to stop it before it is too late.

This film (and novel) raises ethical questions about man's ability through science to control the evolutionary process.
