Made for TV

Terrifying made-for-TV sci-fi movie, starring Kal Weber, Tom Wopart, Elizabeth Healey and Jessica Reavis.

When a mass of flesh-eating army ants attack and kill hundreds of workers in a mine in Ban Tao, Dr Len Lennart (Kal Weber from Mile High) and his colleague Bill (Tom Wopat from The Dukes of Hazzard) are dispatched to wipe out the threat. But standing in their way is Len's ex-girlfriend, Claire Dubois (Elizabeth Healy), who opposes the annihilation of any species. However, even she becomes concerned when Len fears that the ants have developed a kind of "hive mind" - their mass intelligence makes them far more formidable than anyone previously believed.

Soon, an even stronger swarm is reported. Two hundred million army ants are moving as one giant mass through the jungles, devouring everything in their path. In the midst of their rescue mission, Len and Claire rescue a young Brazilian girl, Ying (Elizabeth Bodner) and take her with them. Vastly outnumbered and facing certain death, Len, Claire and Ying are suddenly rescued themselves by a team of ants and led to an isolated cave. There they learn the origins and intentions of the crawling killers, a scheme set to rock the future of the planet.
