Based on a true story. During the American Civil War, a Union spy is asked to lead a band of Union soldiers into the South to destroy the railway system. Posing as Kentuckians they capture a Confederate railroad train, but the conductor is on to them and he pursues the raiders by foot, handcar and locomotive. Once captured, the band plans a daring escape.
